Henry, aged 12, attends a grammar school in the south of England. The "Before" sample does not reflect his high intellect: a week later his intellect is clearly observed. His precriptive writing style is produced at the same speed as his former writing style; and more practice will enable him to develop a faster writing speed. His spelling problems appeared to be a problem, however, less attention on the mechanical production of writing enabled him to place more attention on the recall of spelling. He will gradually make up his spelling deficits. Very few students need to return for our spelling treatments. Three spelling errors on a page is acceptable, but three spelling errors on a writing line, is not acceptable.
